More Iron = Fewer Injuries

This past Saturday, I jumped in with some KICK. ASS. clients and did a 5K Fun Run in downtown San Jose.

Here's the recap over at the Chrome Fit blog!

Three things:

  1. Guadalupe River Park in San Jose is gorgeous and super accessible.  #noted
  2. I PRed the damn thing by 5 minutes.
  3. I hadn't run in like a month... and was injury free.

My background on training to run races =  Injuries.  Misery.  Masochism. but I kind of LOVE racing!

So this time, I tacked my training with lots of high-volume kettlebell swings and snatches, heavy barbell deadlifts and lots of power yoga.

Me - who swore she would never clear a 10 minute mile - finished this 5K in less than 28 minutes!
